PLAY IT FUCKING LOUD!

Bob Dylan records one of his most well known albums in 1966: Blonde on Blonde  it was released the same day  as The Beach Boys release Pet Sounds [May 16]. During his world tour, at the Free Trade Hall, in England. An audience member perturbed by Dylan using an electric guitar shouted,

“Judas!”

Dylan replied,

“I don’t believe you … You’re a liar!”. He turned to his band and said,

“Play it fucking loud!”

and played their closing song: “Like a Rolling Stone”.

After his tour Dylan crashed his Triumph outside of Woodstock, New York breaking several vertebrae in his neck. And for the most part doesn’t tour for eight years. The New Yorker is the first to publish Dylan’s marriage to Sara Lownds, the article entitled “Hush! Bob Dylan is wed”.
